Over the course of my lifetime, some of the best decisions I have made were ones that involved investing in myself.
As I view it, investing in myself is a very clear way of telling me that I am worth it. I am worth investing this time, space and resources in. And it has dramatically changed my relationship with myself just by enrolling in the coaching program, buying the course or signing up for the workshop.
Before, even opening the content of the thing I invested in, I had already shifted how I view me.
Investing in sessions with a nutritionist, before I became one, not only helped me dramatically at the time, but it also helped me realize that this was my calling. Investing in personal development courses, coaching programs, therapy appointments, and healing sessions have all led me here to this moment of self-acceptance and a higher level of consciousness.
An investment in self comes in the forms of time, money or other resources. Getting up at 6 am for a morning workout is also an investment in yourself. It really is about showing up for yourself in a way that you might not have before. The interesting thing about actually spending money towards your self-investment allows you to show up in a more engaged way.
Think about it. How many free programs, challenges, webinars, videos, PDF's, workbooks, etc have you signed up for and never even opened? If you're anything like me it's probably a few 1000... BUT, when you put money towards a program, you're committed. You show up, you do the work annnnd you get way more out of it.
I may be a little biased because of my career but I believe investing in your health to be the best investment! Because without your health what do you really have? How can you invest in your physical, mental and emotional health? Is it meeting your self-care needs, investing in time to meal prep and move your body, investing in an evening routine that supports a restful sleep, or joining a coaching program that helps you reach your goals and keep you accountable?
By investing in myself, it has allowed me to grow as an individual, a partner, a daughter, a friend, and a coach. It’s allowed me to love my body because I have the emotional intelligence to do so, to create a relationship of my dreams because investing in myself showed me my worth and how to set boundaries, to show up in my career to serve others on a much deeper level because I improved my confidence.
It’s true that investing in yourself can trickle out into your life in so many ways that you never even expected.
So, how are you investing in yourself?
