MY NAME IS JENNA, AND JUST LIKE YOU, I WAS STUCK IN THE PERPETUAL EMOTIONAL EATING CYCLE...
For years I used food to cope with my emotions. Numbing every emotion that I could. And when I graduated from university in 2010, my weight had climbed to 295 pounds. I remember the day I stepped on the scale and saw those numbers staring back at me. It was a turning point in my life. At that moment I vowed I would never reach 300 pounds. I spent the next three years, going from fad diet to fad diet to lose the weight. I succeeded in dropping about 50 pounds but gained and lost the same 20 pounds repletely. The problem that I can see so clearly now was that I continued to let my emotions determine what, when and how much I ate. If I was experiencing ANY emotion I ate. If I was stressed, I ate. Food was the only coping mechanism that I had.
